In 2012, Rossin’s portrait of King George VI, marking Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee, was accepted by H.R.M. Queen Elizabeth II and became her royal property. “King George VI” is oil-on-canvas, 48” x 48”
The letter reads:
Dear Mr. Rossin,
The Queen has asked me to thank you for your beautiful painting of King George VI, which was given to Her Majesty by the people of Georgia to mark The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year. The Consul General has sent a photograph of the painting to Her Majesty, which she was please to receive, and I can confirm that The Queen has agreed that the painting should remain in Atlanta, hopefully at a suitably prestigious location with good public access.
This message comes to you with Her Majesty’s good wishes.
Yours Sincerely,
Edward Young
The Deputy Private Secretary to The Queen
